AAMBC Inc.

Visual Identity & Brand Systems

The Overview

During my time with AAMBC Inc., I focused on building a cohesive visual ecosystem for an organization dedicated to celebrating Black writers, journalists, and creatives. My role involved bridging the gap between prestigious literary traditions and modern, high-energy digital branding to elevate the voices within the community.

Visual Strategy & Design

I was responsible for maintaining a consistent brand voice across multiple touchpoints, ensuring that every asset reflected the organisation’s mission of cultural storytelling.

  • Brand Identity: I refined and implemented visual systems to create a professional and recognisable look for multi-channel campaigns.

  • Layout & Digital Assets: I designed digital marketing materials and social media content that prioritised readability and visual impact.

  • Merchandise Design: I developed concepts for branded apparel and physical assets, translating the organization's digital identity into tangible products.

Event Graphics: Black Writers Weekend

  • I was responsible for executing the visual assets for Black Writers Weekend 2026 (BWW26), working within the brand’s established identity to create a consistent festival experience across all platforms.

  • Visual Execution: I translated the existing BWW26 brand guidelines into a series of digital and physical touchpoints, including author postcards and social media headers.

  • Collage Aesthetic: I curated and edited professional author photography into the brand’s signature geometric collage style, balancing bold color blocks with high-impact portraits.

  • Marketing Collateral: I designed the 2026 tour schedules and promotional materials, ensuring that complex information—like multi-city dates and venue details—remained legible and visually engaging.

  • Brand Consistency: My focus was on maintaining the "festival" energy of the brand across every asset, ensuring that the visual impact was never lost between a small mobile screen and a printed postcard.
